My goodness it was just a joke. As for the money thing, you are right, it does take a lot to get a decent shot anymore. Heck, looks has as much to do with it as anything. The only driver though that you can probably argue as being from a wealthier family than JR, and gaining huge advantages in the racing biz at a young age is Casey Mears though.

I didn't like Ironhead, but I did like JR more than his daddy. His fanbase irks me more than he does to be honest. Every driver has moronic fans.

Paul Menard has tons, Jimmie Johnson comes from tons, never investigated the Bush boys but I'm sure they have tons, and the fact that Kurt was doing so well in the sport when Kyle came on the scene is what put Kyle in those rides...

neutral88 I think there are several guys under 30 racing that didn't come from wealthy families. They said the other night that Denny Hamlin's parents nearly went bankrupt to help him along. Granted, there are several that did come from wealthy families like Mears and Menard but if guys like Edwards, Sorenson, Vickers and others came from wealth then I'm not aware of it.

And it was definately easier for Junior to get into Nascar but I don't care what people say, he can drive a race car and he deserves to be there. I think Jeff Hammond ranked him around 5th best in Nascar the other night and I'd have to rank him high too.

Kyle was set up pretty well because of Kurt. He had already signed an agreement to driver for a Ford owner when Hendrick signed him away if I am not mistaken. It may have been Kahne to Evernham, but I am thinking it was Kyle.

Like I said though, looks play as much as anything too. Jimmie Johnson stunk in Busch but still got moved up. Hank Parker JR was better in the Busch series than Jimmie it seemed like.

i can place bets every 20 minutes 10 or 12 times a day to see horses run and can make money in the process

cant do that with cars

neckcar you have fixed odds before a race that wont move from minute to minute and you need to wait hours to find out your result......and you can only bet it one way.....you cant bet exotics on neckcar

horses you wait two minutes for your results and then get to do it all over again

Your not comparing apples to apples. All you are doing is gambling and not watching it for the sport of it. The way you are looking at it you would be better off to bet on rock, paper, scissors and have a result in seconds. 95% of the people at a horse race could give two shits about the sport and are only there to be seen or gamble. %99 of the people at a Nascar race are there because they love the sport.
